Don’t “waist” a spiffy outfit

Dont+waist+a+spiffy+outfit

It saddens me to have to bring up this specific topic, but it has to be addressed. You should not ever wear a jacket or hoodie tied around your waist, and sunglasses are not to be worn inside. Ever.

Do you remember when your mom would refuse to carry your jacket when you were little and you were forced to tie it around your waist? Well, it’s time to be a big girl and carry it. Besides, don’t ruin a spiffy outfit just because you are lazy. Whenever I see someone sporting a hoodie around their waist it brings me back to Kindergarten field trips when I did not want to carry my jacket.

I get it, you don’t want to be caught wearing leggings around the deans, but like I explained in my last blog, don’t wear them. Either put the hoodie on or leave it in your locker because it is not a flattering style choice.

Another topic I’d like to discuss is sunglasses. Don’t get me wrong, I love wearing sunglasses, but outside only. Wearing sunglasses inside might make people assume you are rude for not being able to look people in the eye. It also makes me think you believe you are cool, seriously, get over yourself.

Unless you are recovering from cataract surgery, there is no need to wear them inside school. Sure, the lights are bright, but not to the extent of having to shield your eyes. You’re not going to go blind, so take them off.

I’m all for bring jackets and hoodie to school since it is below zero in the building, but do not tie it around your waist. If you are that frightened of getting busted by the deans, put on some jeans. It’s time to leave the Kindergarten days behind you. Welcome to high school.
