Meg’s gameday hype playlist

Meg Gross, Opinion Editor

We have officially reached the middle of football season. With only four games left, it can be hard to keep showing up to each game. From Halloween to camo, there are many fun game themes left to dress up for. I picked some songs perfect for each game theme that can help you get into the spirit.

10/4 Halloween

  1. “Monster Mash” by Bobby Pickett
  2. “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr.
  3. “Somebody’s Watching Me” by Rockwell
  4. “Thriller” by Michael Jackson

It’s October. So basically, it’s Halloween. For this game, I picked four Halloween essentials to kickstart spooky season.

10/11 Neon

  1. “Take on Me” by abyha
  2. “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go” by Wham!
  3. “You Spin Me ‘Round (Like a Record) by Dead or Alive
  4. “Holding out for a Hero” by Bonnie Tyler
  5. “Material Girl” by Madonna

When I think neon, I think 80s. So for this game, I picked five classic 80s party songs.

10/17 Pink Out

  1. “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson
  2. “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper
  3. “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys
  4. “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce
  5. “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so for this game, I picked five anthems specifically for the girls. I can’t think of any better songs to get hyped and pinked-out to.

10/25 Camo

  1. “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton
  2. “Buy Me a Boat” by Chris Janson
  3. “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X
  4. “Cruise” by Florida Georgia Line
  5. “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck” by Kip Moore

Nothing is more fitting for a camo-themed playlist than country songs. Though some people aren’t country fans, here are five songs that are guaranteed to get you in a country mood for the game.
