On Tuesday, Oct. 9 senior Emma Mullendore placed 10th in the Class A Girls State Golf Championship, which earned her a medal.

Mullendore was tied in tenth place with 86 strokes after the first round of competition at Norfolk Country Club. The placement was finalized when the second round was cancelled due to weather. Mullendore qualified for the state championship after placing 2nd as an individual qualifier at districts on Oct. 2 with a record low score of 77 strokes.

“I was pretty happy with my season,” Mullendore said. “I had some of my lowest scores ever, and I was happy with my medal at state, but I was a little disappointed we didn’t get to play the second day because I know I could’ve played a little better, but that’s okay.”
