With finals rolling around the corner, students have to prepare accordingly. Different students have different ways of getting ready for these all-too-important tests.
“We’re using all the stuff that we’ve learned,” sophomore Eliaz Lopez said. “Looking at past notes, relearning things that I forgot, and for other classes, just a bunch of studying and overlooking notes.
Studying for finals is an exhaustive task, and it takes a lot of time to go through and do. Sometimes though, it’s hard to find a good time to study which can lead to sacrifices in other areas.
“I’ve been getting less sleep,” Lopez said. “But in my opinion, it will be worth it in the end.”
Getting less sleep in order to self-study may help you figure out the content, but rather than pushing yourself late into the night you can instead get help during the day from teachers either before or after school in the various learning centers offered.
“If you don’t understand something, definitely ask them,” senior Landen Thompson said. “They are your advisors, and they will help you get through anything.”
If you don’t want to talk with your teachers, you could always go and try and study with your peers.
“I’m gonna get a couple of friends, and we’re gonna try, like, quizzing each other over stuff,” junior Jasper Mamula said.
If you can’t round up a few of your friends, you could try and learn everything the night before. Self-studying like this can help, but it may not be beneficial with your class arrangements.
“I’m guilty of cram studying, especially with how I do my classes.” Thompson said. “I at least have two major classes, or, like, your general education classes, and I split it up to where the workload I can do every other day.”
No matter how you study, when you take your final assessment in your classes you’ll have to be ready for whatever might happen.
“Just tough it out,” Thompson said.
