On Saturday, August 25, the boys cross country team placed ninth overall and placed second in the open 4000 meter run at the Class of the Metro meet at Walnut Creek.

The girls team placed third in the open 4000m run, but could not be scored overall because only the 5000m runs counted towards team scores, and three runners are required to finish to receive a score in the runs.

The top 15 finishers in each run received medals. Bellevue West had six individuals who medalled:

Freshmen Alyssa Fjelstad and Grace Schaefer placed 7th and 9th in the 9th grade girls 5000m with times of 23:24.60 and 24:13.20.

Junior Charlie Sims, senior Isaiah Hazzard, and junior A.J. Taylor placed 3rd, 13th, and 15th respectively in the open boys 4000m with times of 15:35.30, 16:34.00, and 16:54.00.

Freshmen Lily Price placed 11th in the open girls 4000m with a time of 20:59.00.
